WhatsApp and Mark Zuckerberg have announced that you can now have two WhatsApp accounts logged in at the same time. This is particularly useful for people switching between accounts, such as your work and personal – making it so that you no longer need to log out each time, carry two phones or worry about messaging from the wrong account. This will be rolling out to Android users in the coming weeks and months.

To set up a second account, you will need a second phone number and SIM card or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM. Open your WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to your name, and click “Add account”. You can control your privacy and notification settings on each account, the blog states.

WhatsApp to stop working on certain Android devices soon

WhatsApp will stop working on smartphones running older versions of operating systems starting from October 24. This includes devices from Samsung, Google, Sony, LG, and other brands. WhatsApp drops support for Android 4.1 and older, which means these devices won’t be able to run the latest version of WhatsApp. Users will miss out on new features and may become more vulnerable to security breaches. Users will be notified in advance and will need to update their phone or switch to a supported device. The change only applies to Android devices, while iOS and KaiOS devices are unaffected.
