A new online report suggests that LinkedIn is working on a TikTok-like short form video feed feature. As reported by TechCrunch, the feature was first spotted by Austin Null, a strategy director at McKinney.

Null also shared a brief demonstration on LinkedIn presenting the latest feed, situated within the app’s navigation bar under a fresh “Video” tab. Upon selecting the Video button, users are immersed in a vertical feed of short videos, easily navigated through by swiping.

The report also suggests that users will also be able to like the video, comment and share it with others. The company has not yet revealed the specifics regarding the mechanism by which the feed selects which videos to display to users.

The report also mentions that LinkedIn’s video feed will consist of videos focusing on careers and professions. The newly introduced LinkedIn feed is crafted to enhance engagement and exploration on the platform by offering bite-sized videos for users to swiftly browse through.

The feature is presently in the testing phase and it is presently not available for all the users.

“LinkedIn’s new feed would give creators a new place to share their video content and potentially reach more viewers. It’s possible that LinkedIn may also monetise the feed at some point in the future to entice creators to post their video content on the app,” adds the report.

LinkedIn plans to bring games to the platform
Meanwhile, LinkedIn is also testing to bring games to the professional network. App researcher Nima Owji uncovered code snippets indicating that LinkedIn is experimenting with a distinctive feature where player scores are categorized by workplaces, thereby “ranking” companies based on these scores. However, a LinkedIn spokesperson clarified that the images shared by the researcher are not the latest versions.

According to a TechCrunch report, LinkedIn is presently developing three puzzle-based games named “Queens,” “Inference,” and “Crossclimb.” While no specific launch date has been disclosed, a LinkedIn spokesperson confirmed the ongoing development, expressing, “We’re exploring the integration of puzzle-based games into the LinkedIn experience to inject a bit of fun, foster deeper connections, and hopefully stimulate conversational opportunities.
